This venture was started in a small way in 1998 along with a team of ENT Surgeons, Audiologists and Auditory Habilitations. This was the first of its kind in North Kerala providing state-of-art ENT care in all disciplines. Providing the complete solution for deafness became true when they started cochlear implantation in 2002 after undergoing training in Cochlear Implantation from The Bionic Ear Institute, Australia. The advances that they have made in the nonmedical management of dizziness and nasal allergy and polyps are of world-class standards. Among the first in Asia to start the particle-repositioning maneuver for the management of benign positional vertigo and intratympanic gentamicin treatment for Meniere’s disease, this department has provided relief to thousands of people. Allergy, as we all are now aware, is a medical disease and requires comprehensive management of nasal and bronchial allergy for complete cure. Polyps requiring multiple surgeries and septal corrections are rarely required as optimized care provides relief to the sufferers. By following international standards, we continue our path-breaking work in the treatment of upper airway allergy. In the field of head and neck cancer surgery, all of our patients are effectively rehabilitated and speak after major laryngeal extirpation surgery. This has been made possible by incorporating the latest in medical technology and surgical skills to provide that extra edge. With support from plastic and reconstructive surgeons, we plan to further increase our repertoire. The ENT / Audiology field has expanded at an amazing pace over the past fifteen to twenty years like any areas of Medicine.
